Position Title: Health and Wellness Director (RN)

Position Description
Summary
Responsible for the management of the health services department, including medical, dental, and mental health care for students; environmental health; disability programs; and the Trainee Employee Assistance Program (TEAP), in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Essential Functions
1. Plans, coordinates, and directs the department’s administrative and wellness activities.
2. Provides nursing services within scope of practice for state-specific nurse practice act
3. Screens all medical and dental patients for the Center Physician, Dentist, Mental Health Consultant, vocational rehabilitation, and follow-up medical care.
4. Corresponds with customers, parents or guardians, and social services agencies, as applicable.
5. Manages and conducts coordinated health care for students, including the pregnancy program, after-hours emergency care, family planning, TEAP, and other health-related programs; serves as a chair of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
6. Manages record-keeping and reports on injuries, diseases, and disabilities of students. Serves as student ECOMP Reporter.
7. Coordinates all phases of direct medical, dental, and mental health services for outpatients, inpatients, and off-center patients.
8. Manages in-service training in health-related areas for all center departments.
9. Supports the Safety Manager in planning and responding to environmental health inspections.
10. Evaluates staff, provides staff training, and implements departmental and personnel changes, as approved by the Center Director.
11. Develops and implements new and revised policies and procedures affecting health services.
12. Reviews applicant files weekly.
13. Coordinates the center disability program.
14. Serves as the Center Reproductive Health Coordinator and oversee the Center Family Planning Services.
15. Ensures Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other regulatory compliance.
16. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.
17. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned center property.
18. Reports violations of ethical behavior.
19. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste.
20. Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns.
21. Supervises all department activities through effective planning, staff training, time management, scheduling, and review.
22. Manages departments resources and budget.
23. Screens potential new hires and makes recommendations for hire.
24. Ensures data integrity and quality control through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits and monitoring.
25. Submits reports and plans in a timely manner.

Requirements
Required Education & Experience
• Registered nurse or nurse practitioner
• Active, unrestricted license to practice in the center’s state
• Minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing
• Supervisory experience preferred
Certifications/Competencies
• Ability to work with youth
• Ability to promote the Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency
Minimum Eligibility Qualifications
• If position requires driving, a valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required
• I-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
• Ability to work 40 hours/week (minimum required level) providing coverage for department at Job Corps Center
