About the role:
We’re looking for a talented and nimble Motion Designer to join our Design team. This person is someone who exhibits good taste, is comfortable working through creative iterations in a speedy fashion, and is eager to jump in on a variety of video and animation projects. You'll join the design team and work cross-functionally with engineering and creative teams to develop our AI Edit styles. This is an extremely unique opportunity to design the look & feel of how millions of videos will be edited.
Our ideal candidate has a strong mix of 2D and 3D motion design skills — with a knack for pacing, sound design, and visual design — and is comfortable leading any stage of the creative motion design process.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with members of the Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams. This includes:
Designing high-quality motion graphics, titles, and animations for a variety of projects.
Collaborating with technical teams to develop motion design systems, styles and concepts for video editing templates.
Partnering with product design to imbue motion, animation and delight across our product suite.
Contributing to the launch of unreleased products through motion design.
Refreshing and updating existing projects, graphics, and templates to stay current with industry trends.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Effects preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
3-7 years of professional experience as a motion designer or interaction designer.
Proven track record of creating motion graphics, titles, and animations for various platforms including digital, broadcast, and social media.
Proficiency Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Figma.
Experience with 2D and 3D motion design; knowledge of Lottie/ RIVE/ Cinema 4D and Blender is a plus!
Prior experience working with product or engineering teams is highly preferred!
Strong grasp of design, composition, typography, and layout principles.
Familiarity with UI/UX design, systems thinking, information hierarchy, and user flow.
Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
Efficient project management in a fast paced, high volume environment.
Strong Communication and collaboration skills.
